Apparently, the Fittonia Albivenis (Nerve Plant) will 'faint' when it needs something; to be watered, to be removed from the sun, when too cold, however, it always recovers quickly once its needs are met.
If only it were this obvious for humans......
Or is it?! If we take a moment to consider this, does your body and behaviour react when your needs aren't being met? Do you get snappy or angry? Do we get a panicking feeling of overwhelm when our stress levels are too high? Do we begin to look pale? Spotty? Drawn/bloated? If left unmanaged do our bodies begin to shut down, not having the strength or energy to be able to do what needs to be done?
Just like plants, we all grow when the conditions are right. Many of us spend our lives waiting patiently on a shelf for someone to come along and give us what we need and then end up fainting or getting frazzled because it doesn't come.
What's your shelf life like? Are the conditions right for you to be able to bloom?
It's so important that we look after ourselves, lets stop waiting for someone else to come along and nurture us and give ourselves the utmost care and attention necessary to keep well.
What can you do to ensure you are getting a little bit of what you need each day?
Thanks for sharing this, I'm a firm believer that the basis of optimal function comes from nurturing all 4 pillars of our health... to renew & grow we must give ourselves adequate sleep, like a plant that needs water, we need the right nutrients to fuel our bodies and minds, like a car, whose battery runs flat without movement, the complex and magnificent marvel that is the human body, needs regular movement and exercise, and to cope with the unending events that come our way, we need to find ways to manage our stress and bring relaxation into our everyday lives.
